Part 4 - Paris Travel Tips - Assorted suggestions

We've shared where to stay, where to eat and what to do.  Now it's my chance to share some things I've learned during my many trips to Paris.

Paris is different every time I visit.  The first time you go, you will feel all this pressure to see the top 10 things, which you should.  But the next few times you go, you can build out your trip to be what you want it to be.  Each time it's something new and different.

1.) If you like to shop, then I HIGHLY recommend going in June around the sales.  Between the sales and the VAT tax coming back to you, you can splurge on those designers you dream of!

2.)  Use the Metro - it will save you time and money.  I highly recommend it as a safe and affordable way to get around the city.

3.)  PLEASE - do not over pack.  Bring 1 suitcase.  You can do it!  Remember anything that you need they will sell in the Monoprix or the Pharmacy stores.  There is no need to bring a bunch of products.  Most of our favorite products are made or sold in Europe, so why not purchase them while you're there?  Just pack enough for the 1 - 2 travel days (flight time).

4.)  Visit the parks - (Le Jardin).  They are well maintained and beautiful during the Summer.  Each park is a little different so try to see at least 1 - 2.

5.)  You have to ask the waiter for the check! - Europeans enjoy eating out, so they expect that you will want to stay 2 - 3 hours for dinner.  So, if this is not your idea of fun, then ask for the check.  You may be sitting there awhile thinking that they are bringing it, but they are not.  They do not want to assume you are done and ruin a nice evening.

6.)  If you plan to actually stay in the museum more than 1 hour, pay the extra fee for the headset.  If you're just doing a quick run through, then don't.  If you plan to stay, you should know what you're looking at and I've found the headsets to be pretty helpful and they share fun facts that I usually remember when putting my photo book together once I get home.

Enjoy Paris - our favorite city and #1 on our top 5 places to travel.

Happy Traveling!!
