Part 3 - Paris Travel Tips - What to do?

There's SO much to do in Paris, that it's difficult to make suggestions. That's a GREAT thing, meaning you shouldn't get bored!

I go to Paris to relax, eat well, shop, visit the Museums and walk.  While I'm a big proponent of using the Metro whenever possible, there is also something to be said about walking. The bridges and buildings are beautiful so make sure to take an unscheduled stroll now and again while visiting the most romantic city in the world.

Things I like to do while in Paris:

1.)  Don't miss the Soldes (sales) in late June/early July.  It's pretty incredible, trust me!
2.)  Buy the Museum Pass.  It will allow you to skip from Museum to Museum and there are a LOT of Museums.  Most people know the top 3, but on the Museum pass it lists them all.  Plus it gets you into some of the special attractions like the top of Notre Dame or the top of the Arc de Triomphe.  Another valuable tip about having the Museum pass is that you can get into the Louvre before all the other tourists.  Why, you don't have to wait in line to buy a ticket.  You already have one.  Make sure to get there early and grab the map.  The Louvre is 16 miles of Museum so you can get lost!!  Don't lose valuable time trying to find Venus de Milo if you can grab the map and get there first.
3.)  Stroll along the Seine River.  Especially around the countless bridges.  The best view of the bridges is from the water.  There are very inexpensive river boats that take you around the main sites and do not require a reservation.  They all line up next to the Eiffel Tower so they are easy to get to.  It may be a little touristy, or a lot touristy, but I prefer the 30 minutes cruise that plays all your favorite French songs.  You will see all the main sites from the river and it's very reasonably priced.

What ever your reason is to go to Paris, spend some time researching all that it has to offer and be flexible.  You can literally get lost on the streets of Paris and have a fantastic time doing it.  That's how I found one of my favorite restaurants and still to this day can't find it again.

Happy Traveling!!
